Deck of Cards

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

This building appeared to me as if someone had let it fall from their palm like a deck of cards; floor by floor in between the buildings on either side of it.

Santa is in Town…

…he must still be on holiday.

Churches in NYC

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

We spent a bunch of time in midtown today. And I was hit by the contrast of churches and their surroundings. Hopefully the photos do the concept a bit of justice.

Obama

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

The election is now a few days past. The cover of the Post from election day is on my desk, and I just can not get over this image. Every time I see it, my head shakes, my heart jumps. Amazing! What a day.

SoHo to Update Front Page

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

We were down in SoHo to take some photos for an updated homepage.

More details on the updated homepage will be coming shortly.

But here are some other photos from the afternoon.

The corner of Lafayette and Kenmare.

An art exhibit with the storefront converted as well.

The Flatiron Framed

From SoHo to Midtown

Friday, October 17th, 2008

We are having a second wind to summer here in NYC. Beautiful walking weather, so we walked from SoHo through Midtown…

Took a photo of a guy taking a photo of another guy taking a photo.

Not one, but two pink buildings…

A carrot peeler salesman at Union Square, seriously. Check out the 2006 Vanity Fair issue with a multi-page spread.

Here’s a bit of midtown charm just north of the Flatiron district. And then the 20th century modern Empire poking its head out.

Strolling through the Old Village

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

We had unexpectedly sunny, beautiful and warm weather. And took a stroll through the old Village.

A rather typical, yet still stunning brownstone.

Rare to see a New York alley-way that leads to a garden - instead of, well, another alley-way or just garbage.

There are even gardens.

Here’s a gardened brownstone.

Reflection of a brownstone.

The lock may be newer than the bike.

Walking by the Met

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

We were on our way to a playground in Central Park. And there’s usually a wonderful circus outside of the Met, of which a few pics were captured.

Cello at the classical art museum.

A lot of modern art is presented outside of the classical museum - next to the cello player.

There’s a NYC subway map under there.

High art with hot dogs.
